Based on model STEM programs around the nation, the STEM Working Teams are focused on assessing local districts’ STEM readiness, and developing a regional strategy that identifies both industry clusters and professional development needs.
By establishing partnerships with leaders in business, industry, higher education (both 4-year and technical colleges), state career and technical organizations, as well as other key stakeholders, the STEM Working Teams are laying the foundations for a regional STEM initiative for the Central Puget Sound.
WABS Regional STEM Working Teams are active in Snohomish and (East and South) King counties. Participants include our member districts, Workforce Development, the University of Washington, the Boeing Company, several professional societies, math and science institutions, and regional business leaders.
