Pathways and Careers: Virtual Presentations from Local Industry

Up to 12 STEM clock hours

A required 2-part orientation prior to participating in the virtual presentations from local industry provides a foundation and context for the presentations.  Please complete both 30-minute orientation components below first.  Combined you will receive 1 STEM clock hour.  Once you have completed them, you are free to engage in any or all of the subsequent virtual presentations.

AMTEC Virtual Manufacturing Day Session – 2 STEM clock hours (optional) Everett Community College’s Advanced Manufacturing Training and Education Center (AMTEC) is a one-of-a-kind 54,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art training center where students train with the latest manufacturing technologies. AMTEC’s faculty teams go beyond the typical classroom environment to mentor students through hands-on, collaborative projects. Hosted by Herman Calzadillas, Dean of AMTEC and Career Connected Learning & Lisa Fritch, Career & Retention Coach Aerospace & Advanced Manufacturing Careers.

Maritime Institute of Technology and Graduate Studies (MITAGS) – 1 STEM clock hour (optional) MITAGS is the maritime training school for the IOMMP. We train people entering the maritime industry and experienced mariners who are upgrading or wish to work on a specific skill. We offer a variety of courses including those that utilize our 3 full-mission simulators, fire fighting field, and electronics labs. Hosted by Capt. Christine Klimkowski, Instructor and Curriculum Developer.

oneTank – 1 STEM clock hour (optional) oneTank manufactures, sells, and services ballast water treatment equipment for marine vessels. Hosted by Kevin Reynolds, Managing Director.

Renton Technical College – 2 STEM clock hours (optional) Participants will learn about the community & technical college pathway and what specifically makes RTC unique in the many options students have after high school. RTC offers hands-on learning in simulated work environments across 50+ professional-technical programs split into 7 areas of study. They are a proud ‘Achieving the Dream Leader College’ that serves a diverse student population. RTC students engage in learning through a cohort model where each program is linked directly to industry, contributing to one of the high job placement rates (85%) out of all 34 technical and community colleges. Hosted by Anthony Covington, Dean of Student Success & Chelsea Paulsen, Student Success Specialist.

American Seafoods Company – 1 STEM clock hour (optional) World’s leading at-sea processor.  American Seafoods operates a fleet of six fishing vessels in the sustainable fisheries of the Bering Sea and the North Pacific Ocean. We are the world’s largest at-sea processor of Wild Alaska Pollock and hold the largest allocation of Wild Pacific Hake (Whiting). Our quality-assured products are distributed around the globe. Global Diving & Salvage, Inc – 1 STEM clock hour (optional) Recognized internationally for safety, integrity, and expertise, Global Diving & Salvage provides a wide variety of underwater maintenance, repair, installation, and inspection services. Hosted by Frank Immel, Business Development Account Executive.
