Financial Literacy 3: Building Economic Stability

May 10th, 2021 6:00-7:30PM

Audience: All Natural Leaders parents and family members.

Objective: As part of our Financial Literacy series, we are partnering with the Seattle Jobs Initiative to bring this training that will give basic information on accessing Food Benefits, Unemployment Benefits, and Job Search Strategies. There will be an opportunity to get familiar with how to access these resources and discuss ways to share with others.

This is an interactive Zoom training session. The Zoom link will be emailed to you after registration. Spanish interpretation will be available. Other language interpretation is be available upon request.

Planning for the Future: Passion, Pathways, and Paying

May 17th, 20216:00-7:30PM

Audience: Natural Leaders AND their Middle or High School students.

Objective: Natural Leaders will have the opportunity to learn with their students as they explore the importance of identifying passion, pathways to turn the passion into a career, and how to pay for that pathway. There will be breakout sessions just for parents, and some just for students throughout the training.

We strongly encourage students to participate in this training.

Social Emotional Learning Strategies For Families

June 14th, 2021 – 6:00-7:30PM

Audience: Natural Leaders AND their Middle School or High School Students.

Objective: This will be an opportunity for parents and students to talk about managing stress and emotions together and individually. There will be opportunity for breakout sessions just for parents and just for students throughout the training.

We strongly encourage students to participate in this training.

Independent Learning Modules for Families

Diversity and Inclusion

Through this training participants will: 1) Learn about the importance of honoring diversity and practicing inclusion, 2) Acknowledge systems of oppression, and 3)Come up with ways to help promote and practice inclusion in Natural Leaders teams, school community, and children’s classrooms. This is an independent study training that can be done at the participants own pace. Available in Spanish.

Social-Emotional Learning

This training offers Natural Leaders an opportunity to learn about Social and Emotional Learning through the five competencies: Self Awareness, Self Management, Responsible Decision Making, Relationship Skills, and Social Awareness. Participants will then learn how to strengthen their children’s and their own skills in these areas. This is a pre-recorded webinar with videos and practice activities. It can be done independently or as part of a virtual group. Available in Spanish and Mandarin.

Equitable Family Engagement

Number of Clock Hours Available: 2 (there will be an article or two sent out ahead of time to pre-read).

Objective: Develop an understanding of the Natural Leaders program and how it can support equitable family engagement opportunities for families in schools and districts. By attending this training participants will learn how to support families in building skills and knowledge that they can share with their school community, and how to partner for student success.
